What To Expect on a Tour
Remember buying your first home or moving into your first apartment? It’s one of the most exciting decisions and almost always involves an in-person viewing experience. At Parkland, taking a personalized tour is an important part of saying ‘yes’ to a social and carefree lifestyle. Our team understands it’s not just about seeing the space – it’s also about getting that special feeling when you walk through the front door.
We are delighted to welcome you to our safe, social and beautifully-designed community. With unlimited amenities to explore, people to meet and questions to ask, your tour of Parkland will be guided by an experienced team member—your Lifestyle Consultant. Here’s what you can expect during your visit!
While each Parkland community is distinctly unique and reflects the vibrant neighbourhood it’s in and the residents that live there – at each Parkland location, you will find a safe, social, beautifully designed community, inside and out and we’re excited to share it with you. Here is what you can expect at every Parkland when you come for a tour.
Who can I bring?
At Parkland, residents come first, and family is always welcome. While you can certainly visit on your own, we encourage you to bring at least one other person who knows you well. A second person means you can ask twice as many questions!
Where should I go when I arrive?
Before your visit, your Lifestyle Consultant will contact you to confirm the time of your tour and the location of our visitor parking. When you arrive, our front desk team will welcome you and ask you to sign our visitor log. If the Lifestyle Consultant hasn’t yet arrived, feel free to take a seat wherever feels comfortable in our lobby or lounge area. And if you need anything – don’t hesitate to ask.
How long is the tour?
Tours typically take between 30 and 60 minutes, and we can be flexible based on what it is you’re interested in seeing. Please let your Lifestyle Consultant know in advance if you have to leave at a specific time.
What will I see on my tour?
We will start in the lobby and take a tour through main amenity spaces available to residents, including our restaurant-style dining rooms, wellness spaces, library and games room. We will also show you the many beautiful lounge areas where you can gather with family, friends and neighbours who you will likely see relaxing, playing cards, reading a good book or playing our community piano. If there is a model suite or a vacant suite available, this will be included in your tour. With communities throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario, each Parkland community is unique and may include additional amenities such as a spa, theatre, pool, golf simulator, community garden and more.
Can I attend an activity?
If you are interested in sitting in on one of our Harmony Wellness activities, please let your Lifestyle Consultant know and they will try to schedule your tour at a time when you can take in a sample of our activities. Schedules vary by site and can range from fitness classes to a morning walk, a movie, bingo and more.
Can I see or try the food?
The dining experience at Parkland is at the heart of resident life. Our talented culinary team loves creating locally-inspired meals with fresh and seasonal ingredients, and you’ll likely see them preparing for the next meal in our kitchen during your visit. Want to experience a taste of Parkland? Ask your Lifestyle Consultant about what’s possible at your selected community, including a take-home meal or tableside service in our restaurant-style dining room.
What happens after the tour?
When you’ve seen all that life at Parkland has to offer, your Lifestyle Consultant will invite you to sit down and discuss any questions you might have. They will also share information about current suite and lifestyle availability at that location, including pricing, floor plans, details about availability and options for additional services. And don’t worry about taking notes – your Lifestyle Consultant will provide you with a folder that includes all the information you need.
Can I decide to move in right away?
If you decide to call Parkland home, you can secure your room right away with the help of your Lifestyle Consultant. They will work with you through the deposit and lease-signing process with you before introducing you to the broader team who will look forward to helping you move in and enjoy life at Parkland.
I’d like to try it out – can I do a short term stay?
Residents of Parkland enjoy exceptional service and beautiful amenities with no long term contracts. You can stay for as long as you like and are only ever required to give 30 days’ notice. I’m not quite ready to decide. What’s next?
Taking a tour can be an experience that sometimes requires reflection and conversation with those who know you best. We’ll be here when you’re ready – there is absolutely no pressure to make a decision on the day of your tour. Once you’ve had a chance to review the information, consider calling your Lifestyle Consultant with any follow up questions or to book another tour.
Something came up. Is it ok to cancel?
Of course! If you are unable to make your appointment, please reach out to your Lifestyle Consultant in advance of the tour time so they know you’re ok. They will be more than happy to reschedule for a time that works for you, or you can let us know you’ll reach back out when you’re ready to rebook.
