As Parkland Saint John celebrates its 10-year anniversary this September, we are highlighting one of our amazing team members, Mia Cuenat, Resident Experience Manager.

Originally from Montreal, Mia made the move to Saint John in 2013 and was encouraged by a friend to apply to Shannex. She began her journey as a Concierge in 2015 and has since taken on a variety of roles including Wellness Coach, Hospitality Manager, and currently is the Resident Experience Manager. 

When asked about what she enjoys most about her role, Mia shared that no two days are the same, and that she is given the opportunity to be creative every day and bring joy to residents. She smiled and reflected on how the smallest things make their day, and they always show their appreciation to the team. 

For Mia, the most rewarding part of working at Parkland Saint John is “making a difference in somebody’s life”. She also takes great pride in her work with the resident’s council, helping lead initiatives like food and clothing drives that give back to the community. 

Mia fondly remembers her first day on the job. The building was still under construction, and the team gathered in the reception area as temporary office space. She immediately felt like the team was family, she said and when the independent suites officially opened on September 14, 2015, she relied on that sense of teamwork. She was pulled in many directions, but the team was always there to support her.
