Karen Dixon, Parkland’s interior designer, carefully selects all building elements. Her design approach is to create environments inspired by nature, with plenty of natural light, and colours and textiles that represent vitality and a sense of calm. With every new building, Parkland takes learnings from the last ensuring that each new residence is optimized to help residents live their best life.

Parkland also features a unique Harmony wellness program that takes a holistic, personalized approach to wellness. Onsite wellness coaches take time to understand each resident’s goals and passions, creating customized plans. With a long list of amenity spaces such as a movie theatre, swimming pool, fitness and yoga studio, onsite spa and multiple dining venues, you are sure to find plenty to do, and meet other like-minded individuals to share your time with.

Parkland’s dining experience is paramount to the organization’s success. Chief Culinary Officer, Dana Schiefer, says the key is offering choice. “We offer multiple dining venues, with all-day dining and menu options that change regularly. All menus are seasonally inspired, with input from the residents on the options they would like incorporated.” Menu items can also be customized to meet residents’ dietary requirements, and the executive chef may even make a dish not on the menu if requested by a resident.

Being a family-owned business means that residents and team members are treated like family, and the safety of those living and working at Parkland is something the organization takes very seriously. Parkland has its own in-house infection prevention and control specialist, along with an occupational and clinical health team, who ensure that Parkland has the most relevant and up-to-date information to protect each community. Parkland’s organizational procurement lead ensures all front-line teams have the resources and PPE necessary to meet the needs of residents each day.
