PARKLAND RETIREMENT LIVING AND LIFESTYLE RESIDENCES TASTE OF HOME GIVEAWAY (THE “CONTEST”) WILL BE CONDUCTED IN CANADA (EXCLUDING QUÉBEC) AND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO, AND EVALUATED ACCORDING TO, APPLICABLE CANADIAN LAW. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY. PARTICIPANTS MUST BE OF THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR PROVINCE OR TERRITORY OF RESIDENCE OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF ENTRY. VOID IN WHOLE OR PART WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THESE CONTEST RULES (THE “CONTEST RULES”).
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Eligibility: To be eligible for this contest, you (“Entrant”) must:
- Be a legal resident of Canada (excluding the province of Quebec)
- Be the age of majority in their province or territory of residence, or older at the time of entry.
The winner shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity, their address, and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant should such an entrant at any stage supply information that does not meet these requirements.
Contest Period & Participation:
Starting on 12:00 p.m., Atlantic Standard Time, December 7th, 2023 to 11:59 p.m., Atlantic Standard Time, December 13th, 2023 (“Contest Period”), Entrants may participate in the Contest by commenting your favourite recipe on our Facebook post. Applicants may only enter once.
Contest Entry: Upon completion, eligible entrants will be entered into the contest for one (1) chance to win the Prize (described below).
Contest Entry Restrictions: Entrants are restricted to one (1) entry per person. Any excess entries will be invalid for purposes of the Contest draw.
Awarding of Prize: The prize will be awarded to the entrant who has complied with these rules.
PRIZE
One Available Prize: There is one (1) prize available to be won by the prize winner (a “winner”), consisting of one (1) KitchenAid Mixer, valued at approximately CAD $450.00 (the “Prize”)
Prize Acceptance: The Prize must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternatives, substitution or transfers of the prize will be allowed. The winner is not entitled to the monetary difference between the actual prize value and stated approximate prize value, if any. The prize will be mailed or delivered to the winner within two (2) weeks from the date when the winner’s signed declaration and release form along with the correct answer to a skill testing question is received by Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences.
Odds: The odds of being randomly selected to win the prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.
Prize Draw: The prize will be awarded by random draw on December 14th, 2023 before 4:00 p.m. in Halifax, Nova Scotia from ALL eligible Contest entries received during the contest period (the “draw”).
Notification of Selection: The selected entrant will be contacted by Facebook Messenger at least three (3) times within the seven (7) days after the draw. If the selected entrant cannot be contacted in that time, another entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected entrant will be disqualified and will have no recourse towards Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, or anyone involved with the contest. In order to win, the selected Entrant must first correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical, skill-testing question to be administered by telephone or email, and he/she/they will be required to sign a standard Declaration and Release Form confirming compliance with the Contest Rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences from all liability relating to the contest or prize. The selected entrant will have seven (7) days from the date of receipt to return a signed copy of the Declaration and Release Form to Sponsor. If the selected Entrant does not do so within this period of time, another Entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected Entrant will be disqualified and will have no recourse towards Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, or anyone involved in the contest.
CONTEST RULES
Claiming the Prize: Claiming the Prize is subject to verification by Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences. All Contest entries which are incomplete, forged, irregular or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules are automatically void. Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences will be the sole and final reference source in validating a Prize claim.
Participation: By participating, each eligible Entrant and the selected Winner agree: (a) to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, (b) to release and hold harmless Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense arising directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, out of participation in the Contest, breach of these Rules, participation in any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the Prize, including but not limited to costs, injuries, losses related to personal injuries, death, exposure to the COVID-19 virus, damage to or loss of or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation, or portrayal in a false light, or from any and all claims of third parties arising therefrom; (c) to the collection and use of his/her/their personal information by Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences for Contest related purposes; (d) to grant Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences right’s to the Entrant’s Response in accordance with these Rules; and (e) to answer a skill testing question and sign a Declaration and Release Form if selected as the Winner.
Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences Decisions: The decisions of Sponsor in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all Entrants.
Aberrations: Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription or registration of Contest entry information, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, faulty, incomplete, incomprehensible, or erased computer or network transmissions, line failures of any telephone network, failure of computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or web site, inability to submit the online survey, or any other human or technical error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Contest, or for late, lost, stolen, postage due, illegible or misdirected entries.
Rights of Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences: Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event of a technical failure, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest.
Prize Award: Under no circumstances will Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies be required to award more Prizes than what is indicated in these Rules or award a Prize other than in accordance with these Rules.
No Purchase Necessary: To enter, an Entrant must comment favourite recipe before 11:59 p.m., Atlantic Standard Time on December 13th, 2023. Limit of one (1) entry per person.
Personal Information: By participating in the Contest, each Entrant: (i) grants to Parkland Retirement Living and Lifestyle Residences, along with rights granted above, the right to use their Personal Information for the purpose of administering the Contest, including but not limited to contacting and announcing the Winner and coordinating the provision of the Prize; (ii) acknowledges that Sponsor may disclose such Personal Information to third-party agents and service providers of Sponsor in connection with any of the activities listed in (i) above.
Law: The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial, and local laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Rules or the rights and obligations as between the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Nova Scotia without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.
