Meet Norma, Parkland Resident
Norma has been a resident at Parkland for just over a year. She decided to move into Parkland after seeing an ad in the paper. “Basically, we liked the advertisement in the newspaper, heard some good feedback, came to check it out and we did liked it! We liked the idea of not having to cook as I have problems with my eyesight,” she says.
Norma has been keeping active throughout the pandemic by attending exercise classes with the onsite Wellness Coach. She says, “We made sure to follow physical distancing and there have been limits put in place for group gatherings. We are happy that now we can also walk outdoors around the Gazebo.”
Norma stayed connected to her family mostly by phone. With her apartment on the ground floor, she was also able to have visits with her family from outside of her window. When asked what the most challenging aspects of the pandemic are, she says, “Of course, not being able to be with the family was hard. It was also challenging to follow some of the rules. The biggest challenge now is the new norm – physical distancing.” Norma says the staff at Parkland are beautiful and very helpful.
A lot has changed, but not everything. Parkland team members are dedicated to delivering the exceptional service and care we are known for. Placing residents first is as important now as it has always been.
