Navigating Your Options
Understanding your options for care and support can feel overwhelming, but it’s important to understand what’s available to you. You may have heard about home care programs provided through provincial health authorities. These are typically offered at no cost or reduced cost and have eligibility requirements. We encourage you to learn more by visiting the provincial websites in the province where you live.
Parkland at Home will help you design a care plan that fits your needs and complements any public services you may already receive. We offer a simple, transparent approach to home care where you make decisions about services, schedule, and how care is delivered by people you know and trust.
Whether you need a little extra help each week or full-time support, we’ll work with you to ensure your care is seamless and stress-free.

Nova Scotia Home Support Direct Funding Program
What is the Home Support Direct Funding Program?
The Home Support Direct Funding program provides eligible Nova Scotians with funding to purchase Home Support Services (personal care, respite, meal preparation, and light housekeeping) through a provider of their choice. - Have unmet care needs that affect daily functioning.
- Require supports with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs are things you do every day to take care of yourself and your home such as meal prep and light housekeeping) and/or reside in an area with a waitlist for home support services as determined by Nova Scotia Health.
- Be able to hire the appropriate Care Worker and manage your care needs either on your own or with the help of an appointed Care Manager.
