Do you offer free assessments?

Yes, we offer free assessments. Whether you need a care assessment or a home maintenance we are here to support you.

What is the cost and is there a minimum amount of hours per day or week?

Cost is $37.00 per hour and it’s a minimum 1 hour per day and 3 hours per week, if we don’t have availability for 1 hour then minimum is a 3-hour visit.

Can I choose my caregiver?

We will work with you to find a caregiver that matches your preferences and needs. If you feel the caregiver isn’t a good fit, you can usually request a change. These are not always guaranteed due to availability.

What happens if my caregiver can’t come one day?

If a caregiver is unavailable due to illness or emergency, PAH will send a qualified replacement to ensure you still receive the care you need.

Can home care support seniors with dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Yes, many caregivers are trained in dementia care and can help with routine, safety, memory prompts, and companionship, which can greatly improve quality of life for someone with cognitive challenges.

Can a caregiver help with medications?

Caregivers can remind clients to take their medications at the correct times, but only licensed professionals (like nurses) can administer medications.

How do I know if home care is right for me or my loved one?

Home care is a good fit if you or your loved one wants to remain at home but needs help with daily activities.

Are your caregivers insured?

Individual caregivers are not insured; however, the company holds valid insurance.

How soon can care begin?

We will be offering Home Care services in the greater community as of November 1st, 2025. Initial request for service to start of service can start as soon as contract is complete with 24 hours.

If a visit is cancelled, do I have to pay?

If a visit needs to be cancelled, we require 24 hours’ notice. If a visit is cancelled by the company, there is no charge.

Can a caregiver take me to my appointments or for groceries?

A caregiver can accompany, however, cannot provide transportation. Transportation would need to be set up by client using an appropriate service (ex. Access a Bus or Seniors Transit)

Can I give a caregiver a gift?

Caregivers are not allowed to accept gifts. If you would like to recognize a caregiver in that way, please reach out to the Parkland at Home office to discuss beforehand.

Are my pets allowed in the home when the caregiver is there?

Pets are to be put away before the caregiver arrives. It is left to the discretion of the caregiver if a pet is left out during the visit.

How do Assessments work?

Assessments are done for all of our services except our meal delivery service. To begin the process we ask that you submit a service inquiry form.

Based on your interest a member of our team will contact you within 24 hours.

Our care assessments range in 1-2+ hours of assessment time.

Our home assessments are 30 minutes to 1+ hours.
