We often say neighbours become friends at Parkland, but today our neighbours have become family. Parkland is pleased to welcome Milestone Communities<\/a> to the retirement living division of Shannex<\/a>, a family-owned company with more than three decades of being a trusted provider of accommodations, services and care to seniors in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario. Milestone Communities is located in the growing neighbourhood of West Bedford, Nova Scotia and is home to residents in two senior living properties: The Pemberley<\/a> and The Highbury<\/a>, each offering lifestyle options for active seniors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like Parkland, Milestone Communities is a Maritime-based organization dedicated to helping seniors live their best life in retirement. Jerry Nowee, former President and CEO of Milestone Communities spoke to the impact of Shannex\u2019s reputation on the decision, \u201cShannex has earned a reputation for operating vibrant, safe and reliable communities,\u201d he says. \u201cI knew they were the right fit to carry forward the work I began alongside the impressive Milestones team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President and Chief Operating Officer of Shannex, Jason Shannon says the organization is honoured to carry forward Milestone Communities. \u201cJerry and his team have created a unique living experience in a location where there is great demand for senior living options and we see this as just the beginning for what we can create to meet this need in the Bedford area.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shannex has also grown its team of Great People<\/em>, welcoming all existing Milestone team members as they continue their important work at the Milestone development. Expected to be complete in the spring of 2023, Shannex will also assume ownership of the Highbury II, a new supportive living community just steps from The Pemberley and The Highbury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
