\u201cShe has a magic touch with our residents!\u201d \u2013 Jodi Bartlett, GM<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Katey Rogers is one of the frontline Superstars working at Parkland. In addition to her role as a Concierge, Katey is also completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD University in Halifax. She is the first smiling face when you walk through the doors at Parkland at the Gardens<\/a> and when residents head out for the day. Not only does she know every resident by name and their interests, she also gets to know the families and friends who come to visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jodi Bartlett, general manager at Parkland at the Gardens says, \u201cKatey is always positive in her approach with everyone. She has a special talent where she zones in on the resident\u2019s emotional health. We have always appreciated Katey\u2019s sense of detail in our resident\u2019s health, but even much more during this uncertain time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing residents well means Katey can easily pick up on when someone might need some words of encouragement or joy throughout the day. This is especially true during the pandemic, with many residents being used to visiting with neighbours and participating in gatherings on and off campus. During her shift, Katey makes note of any residents who don\u2019t quite seem themselves and notifies the team to ensure everyone is looking out for the resident and doing what they can to bring them joy. She will also use her artistic flair to craft special cards with notes of encouragement for those residents and team members who need an extra boost, to let them know she is thinking of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Katey is continuously motivated to go above and beyond at work knowing she is making a difference in the lives of the residents. Thank you Katey for all your contributions to keeping residents safe, active and well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
