At Parkland, we know\nhow important it is to stay connected. Here are a few tips to help you connect with loved ones\nwhile practicing physical distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Video chat<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Video chats are a great way to stay connected with friends\nand family when you can\u2019t be in the same room. Popular platforms include Skype,\nZoom, HouseParty and Facebook Messenger. There are many platforms out there, so\ntry a few out and see which ones suit you best! Happy chatting! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People are being very creative using video chat and social\nmedia platforms to host events or activities. Examples: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Paint night<\/li><li>Live story time<\/li><li>Group yoga \/ exercise classes<\/li><li>Group meditation sessions<\/li><li>Games with friends<\/li><li>Watch movies together with browser extensions like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflixparty.com\/\">Netflix Party<\/a><\/li><li>Have dinner together, virtually!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Phone calls<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While video chatting is great, some people prefer a good\nold-fashioned phone call. Schedule your call ahead of time so you\u2019re sure to\ncatch each other! Pick a time that works for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Finish that project you\u2019ve been\nputting off<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\u2019s getting your taxes done, pulling together\na scrapbook from your youth or completing an online challenge (like recreating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/amp\/news\/the-getty-museum-called-for-people-to-recreate-works-of-art-while-in-quarantine-and-they-did-not-disappoint\/#aoh=15857919214933&amp;referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp;_tf=From%20%251%24s&amp;share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cbsnews.com%2Fnews%2Fthe-getty-museum-called-for-people-to-recreate-works-of-art-while-in-quarantine-and-they-did-not-disappoint%2F\">works of art<\/a>), keeping yourself and loved ones occupied will get you through long\ndays with limited social contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We\nare in this together.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This\nnew reality is new for us all! It\u2019s time to reach out to friends and family and\nbe creative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Looking to connect with a resident at Parkland?<\/strong><br> <strong>Send a note, photo or video through the #GreatConnections program<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Parkland has recently made iPads available at all our locations to help residents connect with loved ones.  We have also set up a system to help family and friends send notes, photos or videos. You can either post your photo and video on social media and use #GreatConnections or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/r\/ZCFNVY3?fbclid=IwAR3SPvI2nMtHTV9jwxuNukYx1ehgdBL7IHdtA8z6kXMu6hVVKCd2o83-LJw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fill out the Resident Message form<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also send an email to the front desk to be printed and delivered to your loved one! Our  recreation teams will be checking in with residents regularly and are happy to pass along messages, love and warm wishes from family members.
