At Parkland, we believe in celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive community. This year, Parkland Clayton Park<\/a> hosted a vibrant Pride event featuring the raising of the Pride flag and a special performance by Shayla Shenanigans<\/a>, a beloved drag queen from Halifax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with the raising of the Pride flag, a powerful symbol of support for the LGBTQ+ community. The sight of the flag waving was a reminder of the progress made in the fight for equality and the ongoing journey towards a more inclusive world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for her charisma and captivating performances, Shayla Shenanigans brought an energy and joy that was felt by everyone in attendance. Her performance was more than just entertainment; it was an opportunity for education and connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shayla shared, “My favorite thing is educating places that normally wouldn\u2019t have drag. I felt nothing but love in that room. It\u2019s about showing people what connects us instead of what divides us. I just speak on my experience, not anyone else\u2019s.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Parkland residents enjoyed Shayla’s performance and pride education. For many, it was their first time experiencing a drag show<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharon, a resident at Parkland Clayton Park attended the drag show with a sense of curiosity and a desire to support the Pride community. She shared, “I wanted to know more about it and support the Pride family. I wanted to know about Pride and their community.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sharon’s openness to learning and her supportive attitude reflect the spirit of our community at Parkland Clayton Park. We are proud to be a place where residents feel encouraged to explore new experiences and broaden their horizons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pride event at Parkland Clayton Park was a celebration of love, acceptance, and community. It was a reminder of the importance of embracing diversity and supporting one another. We are grateful to Shayla Shenanigans for sharing her talent and wisdom with the residents and team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
