Brenda and Clyde spent their entire life living in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in their family home. Having raised four children, Brenda found it difficult to think about leaving the place where they raised their family and shared so many memories but when Clyde fell ill their household and upkeep became too much \u2013 they knew it was time to look for other options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t ready to let go, but I knew he needed to be here,\u201d said Brenda from her assisted living suite at Parkland Cape Breton<\/a>. \u201cEverything is done \u2013 the laundry, the cleaning, the meals.\u201d As Clyde\u2019s needs progressed, he was able to receive the care he required from the comfort of their suite. Brenda and Clyde spent ten months together at Parkland Cape Breton before he passed away. \u201cThis is life. These are the things that happen, but at least we had everything taken care of before it happened.\u201d Brenda continues to enjoy her time at Parkland having meals with her friends and knowing she isn\u2019t alone. \u201cThis is my home now and I will always be here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
